Angina & Chest Discomfort
What is it? Angina is chest discomfort that can occur when the heart muscle does not receive enough oxygen-rich blood.
How does it happen? It is often associated with coronary artery disease, where narrowed coronary arteries limit blood flow during physical activity or increased demand.
How we help: For appropriately selected patients, EECP/Cardio MedBed may be considered for symptom support alongside medical care.
TreatmentCardio MedBed / EECP
New, severe, or unexplained chest pain should be medically evaluated urgently, not treated as a routine wellness visit.

Refractory Angina
What is it? Refractory angina means angina symptoms continue despite appropriate medical therapy, and another suitable revascularization option may not be available.
How does it happen? The heart may still experience inadequate blood supply during increased demand, causing recurring discomfort and activity limits.
How we help: A medically supervised EECP program may be considered for selected patients to help manage symptoms. It does not replace cardiology care, medications, stents, or bypass surgery when those are medically indicated.

Reduced Local Circulation
What is it? Reduced local circulation means less blood flow through a particular area. Some people notice cold hands, stiffness, muscular discomfort, or temporary circulation-related discomfort.
How does it happen? Local symptoms can have many causes. Persistent coldness, color changes, numbness, wounds, severe leg pain, or other vascular symptoms need medical evaluation.
How we help: AVACEN applies controlled dry heat to the hand with mild negative pressure and may support temporary local circulation where applied.

Circulation-Related Stiffness & Muscle Comfort
What is it? Muscles can feel tight, stiff, cold, or uncomfortable for many reasons, including inactivity, muscular tension, and reduced local blood flow.
How does it happen? This is not treated as cardiovascular disease. The focus is controlled warming, temporary local circulation support, muscular relaxation, and comfort.
How we help: AVACEN can be paired with complementary thermal therapies as part of a comfort-focused session.

Evidence notes: 2023 AHA/ACC chronic coronary disease guidance says EECP may be considered for symptom relief in selected refractory angina patients with no other treatment options. FDA AVACEN 100 clearance includes temporary local circulation where applied, muscular relaxation, and temporary relief of certain minor muscle and joint symptoms.
